To my ears, Earth of Distrust are totally bricked up by inspiration. In fact, the kind of inspiration they’re environed by is auricular pleasure that cradles the most extreme of the senses. For sure, those guys have not chosen the easy way since their countless influences -mostly embodied in their music in a smart way- have actually formed a hell of a band. And their instrumental craftiness can be so felt during this record’s audience. “Proselytize” comes to carve on a soulless compact disc an agelong experience from live shows or even rehearsals. Yet the coarse production of the album somehow dams this band’s existential shining. Even though the band performs their forte, the album’s sound seems so damn limited that it fuels not the nature of the compositions. Just not Earth of Distrust to the full. And that’s the only memorable disadvantage, in fact. On the other hand, you can’t be a little beast or a lot of it. You’re just a beast no matter what. And Earth of Distrust can guzzle half of the indigenous scene concerning any aspect of it. Led by such a mainman as Spoonman is, they’re to fear none. His wide-ranged ability to vocally follow the mood of each song is simply astonishing. Nevertheless, the rest of this power-trio testify a high level performance rooted at some kind of winking wildness. Just try them out any live performance where you will see their epic songs breathe alive and their fan base involution will drag you in, too. That’s a promise. Perfectly insane in a field of minorities…
